- What can you expect from the Gulf Coast Havanese Club?
We are a friendly group of Havanese owners who enjoy spending time together with our Havanese and their owners. If you are interested in the Havanese breed we invite you to join us at any of our upcoming events.
- Who should join this Havanese club?
Anyone in our geographic territory with an interest in Havanese is welcome. A sucessful dog club takes more than just those who enjoy showing their Havanese in conformation. Instead, we want to involve those Havanese owners who might do AKC rally®, agility, obedience, tracking, or therapy dog work with their Havanese as well as those who are pet owners.
- How is the Gulf Coast Havanese Club different from other Havanese clubs?
Face to face involvement on a regular basis is one of the cornerstones on which the Gulf Coast Havanese Club was founded. Only by interacting in person with other club members and their Havanese can we maintain enthusiasm amongst our members. You can view our membership listing to locate club members near you and can see our Havanese in the photo gallery. Soon you'll feel like part of the family!
- So, what type of activities does the Gulf Coast Havanese Club have planned?
In general, we plan to spread our activities throughout our geographic territory and will include Havanese play dates, several opportunities for the public to meet the Havanese breed in person, seminars on AKC rally, agility, obedience and tracking, grooming seminars, handling seminars, presentations from outside experts, Havanese costume contests, conformation events such as supported entries and specialty shows, and social events such as picnics and dinners. Whew....something for everyone! Check out our calendar of upcoming events for the latest info.
- I don't own a Havanese yet. Can the Gulf Coast Havanese Club help me?
Our list of members is a great place to start when looking for a reputable Havanese breeder. One of our main objectives is to help educate the public about Havanese ownership. We welcome you to attend any of our club events and to get to know more about us and the Havanese breed.
